The User Experience Researcher learns what our clients and end-users’ wants and needs from their products and services. You will conduct independent research to analyze real users and their behaviors to deliver world class user experience solutions. The UX Researcher will affect the testing roadmap and use qualitative and quantitative data to help shape the design.

You will work closely with the UX Lead and UX Designers to improve product features and help to develop and discover new experience opportunities and improvements. You will be asked to participate in and have a solid understanding of a wide range of clients and project types and be able to support each one’s strategies.

In addition to strong analytical skills and the ability to balance a multi-project workload, strong understanding and working knowledge of the following must be present to be considered for the position:

  • UX and User-Centered Design principles and processes
  • Remote testing tools and usability testing software
  • Strengths and weaknesses of different research methodologies
  • Design and Production Flows

In this role the User Experience Researcher will:

  • Conduct independent research for our clients end users
  • Propose, develop, execute and analyze results from user research, focus groups, usability testing, and competitor and market research
  • Communicate findings and recommendations to drive design decisions and functionality enhancements
  • Identify and propose research method based on project, research or testing goals
  • Conduct face-to-face and remote usability tests
  • Be point of contact with external recruiting team
  • Recruit users, when necessary
  • Inform and influence teams to implement solutions that are best for the user in the context of overall business goals and vision
  • Define user-centric design drivers for projects based on research findings
  • Work side-by-side with UX designers to prioritize research
  • Analyze the design and product requirements documents
  • Follow User-Centered Design best practices
  • Participate in user definition, persona and user case development, distill and communicate findings
  • Identify and summarize meaningful insights derived from design research
  • Effectively document research and testing
  • Collaborate in the refinement and improvement of Openfield’s research process
  • Help define and participate in the creation of content for use in Openfield's content marketing that demonstrates the company’s research capabilities

Qualifications:

Undergraduate degree in one or more of the following:

  • Human-Computer Interaction
  • Experimental Psychology
  • Anthropology
  • Interaction Design

Extensive experience in a design setting such as:

  • Interactive Agency
  • Corporate/Enterprise Software

Other skills:

  • Working in a highly collaborative environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Oral / written communication skills
